Vice gov seeking Danao dads’ aid for gun coop
CEBU Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale said she would talk with the Danao City Council following Wednesday’s raid of the Workers League of Danao Multipurpose Cooperative (WORLD-MPC) to see how she can help.
“I am quite familiar with WORLD-MPC because Ace Durano and I were involved in the creation of the cooperative,” she said.
She said the political feud between Danao Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano and Danao Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano has affected residents.
“It’s very difficult to enter Danao now. I don’t even know whom to talk to,” Magpale told reporters.
She said this is why she decided to approach the City Council about the matter.
“I don’t want to call either the mayor or vice mayor because I don’t want to be misconstrued as taking sides. Maybe someone from the council who is in charge; whatever committee is handling that,” she said.

The cooperative’s business permit was not renewed by the city government, which police cited as basis for the raid.
Magpale said she often used to call the cooperative to display its gun products when tourists would visit Danao.
