Shabu worth P9.52-M seized, 2 nabbed in Iligan City

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated shabu (crystal meth) worth P9,520,000 and apprehended two suspects in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.
The arrests were made in a buy-bust operation along Tibanga Highway in Barangay San Miguel, Iligan City at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

According to the PDEA report released to the media on Wednesday afternoon, 1.4 kilograms of the drug were found in one vacuum-sealed transparent plastic and four knot-tied plastic packs.
The marked buy-bust money, a black courier plastic pouch, a brown paper bag, an opened green tea foil pack labeled with Chinese characters, a black shoulder bag, and a sports utility vehicle were also recovered during the operation.
Article continues after this advertisementThe PDEA identified the suspects as Raisah Amer, a 59-year-old unemployed Iligan City resident; and an alias “Bappa,” who was said to have sustained injuries during the operation.
