LUCENA CITY — A policeman was shot and wounded on Tuesday night by suspected robbers of poultry animals in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, police said.

The Region 4A police said in a report on Wednesday, Jan. 22, that Staff Sergeant Elmer Belaro, assigned at Infanta, Quezon police station, was with his friend “Joboy” around 6:45 p.m. at the latter’s poultry farm in Barangay Paliparan III.

The farm animals were reportedly being stolen by “Kerby” and “Adrian,” both residents of the same village.

While inspecting the farm, the suspects arrived and repeatedly shot Belaro and Joboy using unspecified firearms.

After the shooting, the suspects escaped and left the policeman with a gunshot wound on his left leg.
