Motor vehicles entering Bohol thru seaports to be inspected

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — All motor vehicles entering Bohol through seaports will undergo mandatory inspections as part of the province’s intensified anti-drug campaign starting Monday, Jan. 20.

Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado said the mandatory inspections aim to curb drug smuggling through vehicles transported on roll-on, roll-off (RORO) vessels.

The inspections will be conducted by the Office of the Governor’s canine unit, which was established in February 2023 to address drugs, terrorism, and other threats.

Trained handlers and dogs will be deployed to seaports to ensure compliance and support public safety.

The announcement follows the recent success of the Bohol Police Provincial Office which confiscated more than P15 million worth of suspected shabu in buy-bust operations.

Aumentado called on the public to cooperate with this initiative to help secure a safe, drug-free environment for all Boholanos.
