In a morning weather update, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Benison Estareja said eight Luzon areas will see cloudy skies and rains due to the northeast monsoon or the cold winds coming from mainland Asia.

No low-pressure area is expected by the state weather bureau until the weekend.

(Based on our latest satellite animation, there are no tropical cyclones or low-pressure areas expected to affect the country until the weekend ends.)

He warned the public of moderate to strong in areas of Northern and Central Luzon, as well as the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Wednesday.

“Magpapatuloy pa rin ang maalon na karagatan sa malaking baybayin po ng ating bansa: Northern Luzon, Central Luzon at silangang baybayin pa po ng Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, hanggang dito sa may Eastern Seaboards of Caraga Region and Davao Region,” he said.

(Rough seas will persist across the major coastal waters of the country: Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern coastlines of Quezon, the Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas, as well as the eastern seaboards of the Caraga and Davao regions.)

(Wave heights may reach up to 2.5 to 3.7 meters, which is equivalent to the height of more than a one-story building. This remains hazardous for small sea vessels.)

A gale warning may also be raised by the state weather bureau on Wednesday afternoon over the coastal areas of extreme northern Luzon, according to Estareja.
