The Philippine Lady Volcanoes Rugby Team will play in Cebu as they take on the Singapore National Ladies Rugby team in a goodwill match at the Cebu International School this Saturday.
The game highlights CIS and the Cebu City Rugby Football Club’s (CCRFC) International Ladies 15s Rugby Football Challenge.
Yesterday, a memorandum of agreement was signed between CIS and CCRFC.
The MOA signing at the Laguna Garden Cafe Ayala Center Cebu was attended by rugby development officer for Cebu Rose Mae Lanticse, Cebu Rugby coach and Philippine Volcanoes player Jerry Branzuela, rugby development officer for Cebu Aiumi Ono, Cebu City Rugby Football Club board member Damien Allison, Cebu City Rugby Football Club board member Robert Booth, Cebu City Rugby Football Club chairman Simon Hoyle and Cebu International School Superintendent Deidre Fischer.
Aside from the Philippines-Singapore game, the Cebu Dragons men’s team will also be playing as they go up against a star-studded Alabang Eagles squad with noted celebrities Derek Ramsay and Andrew Wolff in its lineup.
Recently, the Cebu Lady Dragons won against Manila Mayhem in the Annual Ladies 15s Rugby Challenge held at the CIS last April 28.

ACTIVITY
This Saturday’s event will also be a culminating activity for the rugby summer clinic of the Cebu City Sports Commission’s grassroots sports development program.
The event will also celebrate the long partnership of the Cebu Dragons Rugby Team through the Cebu City Rugby Football Club, CIS, VisMinRFU and the Philippine Rugby Football Union.
The event aims to give the sport of rugby exposure and promotion to Cebuanos. It also looks to highlight the Philippine Volcanoes, who won major international tournaments for the country in the past months.
More importantly, the event wants to promote local teams like the Cebu Dragons, which has now nine players selected to the Philippine Lady Volcanoes and seven male players for the Philippine Volcanoes.
