MANILA, Philippines — House Speaker Martin Romualdez has urged participants of the annual Feast of Jesus Nazareno “to uphold discipline and ensure a peaceful celebration” of the occasion.
In a statement on Wednesday, the lawmaker also appealed to the devotees to keep the environment clean during this year’s Traslacion.
Our faith should bring unity and purity.),” he said.

It is also important that we take care of nature. Let’s make sure that no mess is left behind after the Traslacion.),” he added.
Romualdez also called on authorities and Church organizers to ensure public safety for Traslacion’s upcoming activities.
Ang debosyon na ito ay sumasalamin sa tibay at tapang ng ating pananampalataya (The annual Traslacion reminds us of the importance of faith and unity as a people. This devotion reflects the strength and courage of our faith.),” the lawmaker said.
This annual procession is a reenactment of the 1787 Traslacion of the Jesus Nazareno image from its original shrine in Bagumbayan, the present Rizal Park, to the Quiapo Church.
In 2024, the Traslacion had 6.5 million devotees participating, according to the Quiapo Church Command Post.
