Chief justice: No work in Supreme Court on January 9

MANILA, Philippines — Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo announced the suspension of work in the Supreme Court on Thursday, January 9, as Malacañang declared that day a special non-working holiday in Manila.

In a memorandum dated January 6, the Chief Justice however noted that the SC work suspension is subject to the condition that the skeletal workforce in the Docket-Receiving Section of the Judicial Records Office and Cash Collection and Disbursement Division, Financial Management and Budget Office shall be maintained.

Malacañang declared January 9 a special non-working day in Manila to give the public the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the Feast of Black Nazarene.
