Sea travel resumes for small vessels in Quezon

LUCENA CITY — Sea travel for all vessels in Quezon province resumed on Monday, Jan. 6, after the lifting of the gale warning by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) had suspended the voyages of vessels and small craft with a gross tonnage of 250 or below last Saturday due to rough sea conditions caused by strong gale winds.

The suspension affected the northern Quezon town of General Nakar and the northern and eastern coasts of Polillo Islands, including the municipalities of Panukulan, Burdeos, Patnanungan, and Jomalig.

On Sunday morning, the PCG extended the suspension to include the eastern coast of the province, covering the towns of Mauban, Atimonan, Plaridel, Gumaca, Lopez, and Calauag, as well as the island municipalities of Alabat and Perez in Lamon Bay.
