LUCENA CITY — Police arrested three men on Wednesday night after residents complained of indiscriminate firing in Bacoor City, Cavite, police said on Thursday.
The Bacoor City police reported that “Niel,” “Mar” and “Val” were in a drinking session in Barangay Molino IV around 9 p.m. when they indiscriminately fired their guns and caused commotion among villagers.
A villager reported the incident to the local police station, which dispatched cops to the area and arrested the three.
Police seized from Niel a caliber .40 pistol loaded with 12 bullets, while Mar yielded a caliber .45 pistol with two bullets.
Investigators recovered two empty bullet shells and one slug from a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.
The report did not specify if the confiscated handguns have government permits and licenses in the name of the suspects, all residents of neighboring Dasmariñas City.
Authorities would subject the confiscated firearms to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine if these were used in past crime incidents.
The three suspects were detained at the local police jail and will face criminal charges for alarm and scandal and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition.
