Pagasa releases tropical cyclone names for 2025

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has released the list of names to be given to tropical cyclones that will enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in 2025.

Below is the list of tropical cyclone names.

If the number of tropical cyclones surpasses 25, they will be given the following auxiliary names:

  • Alamid
  • Bruno
  • Conching
  • Dolor
  • Ernie
  • Florante
  • Gerardo
  • Hernan
  • Isko
  • Jerome

Pagasa assigns local names to tropical cyclones only after they enter PAR, the region designated by the World Meteorological Organization for the state weather bureau to monitor. This practice began in 1963.
