14 Liloan barangays join Rosquillos Festival
ALL 14 barangays will show their stuff in today’s street dancing highlighting the Rosquillos Festival in Liloan town, northern Cebu.
These are Cabadiangan, Calero, Catarman, Cotcot, Jubay, Lataban, Mulao, Poblacion, San Roque, San Vicente, Santa Cruz, Tabla, Tayud and Yati.
The barangays got a subsidy of P100,000 each from the municipal government.
Thelma Jordan, who leads the festival preparations, said the street dancing is one of the highlights of the town’s fiesta celebration in honor of its patron saint, San Fernando Rey.
The winners will receive P500,000 worth of projects, Jordan said.
The coronation of the festival queen will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m.
Article continues after this advertisementThe municipal council then approved a resolution proclaiming Rosquillos Festival as the official festival of the municipality.
The festival, named after the town’s famous cookies rosquillos, helped Liloan become popular among foreign and local visitors.
