The late Supreme Court Justice Cesar Bengzon is the only Filipino who became a member of the United Nations International Court of Justice. Born on May 28, 1896, he served in the international court from 1967 to 1976. He was appointed as associate justice in 1945 at the age of 48, one of the youngest Supreme Court magistrates ever appointed. He died in 1992 at the age of 96.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
