Motorcyclist yields shabu in Cavite checkpoint

LUCENA CITY A motorcycle rider was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 14, after he yielded shabu (crystal meth) at a police checkpoint in General Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite province.

Region 4A police reported Sunday that cops conducting Oplan Sita, a routine anti-criminality inspection, flagged down motorcyclist “Bonamer” at 11:30 p.m. along Congressional Road in Barangay (village) Maderan for driving his vehicle without wearing a crash helmet.

The Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009 mandates the wearing of protective headgear.

During the routine frisking, the police found the rider in alleged possession of three plastic sachets of shabu worth P6,120.

The suspect was detained and would face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
