Romualdez to Bar 2024 passers: ‘Protect rights, promote justice’
MANILA, Philippines — Speaker Martin Romualdez urged the country’s new lawyers to “protect rights and promote justice.”
Romualdez congratulated the 3,962 passers of the 2024 Bar on behalf of the 307 members of the House of Representatives on Saturday.
“As you begin your journey as lawyers, I encourage you to always keep the greater good in mind. Use your skills to protect the rights of others, promote justice, and contribute to the progress of our nation,” he said in a statement.
“The country needs lawyers who are not only skilled but also principled and driven by a strong sense of duty to the people,” he added.
Romualdez continued; “As a fellow lawyer and alumnus of the UP College of Law, I understand the immense effort and sacrifice it takes to reach this milestone. It is not an easy road, but you have proven your resilience and commitment to your dreams.”

Article continues after this advertisementThe 2024 Bar examination had a 37.84 percent passing rate out of the total 10,490 takers.
Kyle Christian Tutor, also from UP, topped the 2024 Bar with a score of 85.770 percent.
