P1.1-M drugs seized in Taguig drug bust; teenager, 2 others nabbed

 MANILA, Philippines — Southern Police District (SPD) operatives confiscated nearly P1.11 million worth of drugs and arrested three suspects including a teenager, in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City Monday evening.

In a report on Tuesday morning, the SPD said 163 grams of illegal drugs worth an estimated P1,108,400 were seized in Barangay Central Bicutan by a composite team from then SPD, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Taguig City police.

The arrested suspects were identified only as alias “John Paul”, 32; alias “Jepoy”, 30; and alias “Shawn”, a 17-year-old student.

The SPD added that it recovered a loaded .45 caliber pistol. The illegal drugs  were brought to the district’s Forensics Unit for examination.

“John Paul” and “Jepoy”, who were said to be “high-value” individuals, were taken into custody by the Taguig City Police Station.

A complaint for possessing illegal drugs awaits “John Paul”, while “Jepoy” will face formal complaints for the sale and possession of illegal drugs as well as a violation of the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Meanwhile, SPD turned over the minor, “Shawn”, to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for proper disposition.
