MANILA, Philippines — Families are invited to light shows, food parks, and animated displays at the “Christmas by the Lake,” which the local government of Taguig opened on Saturday, November 30.
It marks the third year of the local Christmas attraction in Barangay Lower Bicutan, which has become a beloved holiday tradition for families in Taguig and nearby areas.
In a statement on Sunday, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano highlighted that this year’s “Christmas by the Lake” features several attractions, including the “Christmas on Display,” which showcases rich Filipino Christmas traditions, and the “Northern Lights experience,” inspired by the Aurora Borealis.
“Towering over the Park is the Giant Christmas Tree, a revolving centerpiece that lights up the entire attraction as a symbol of hope, unity, and joy which will surely be a highlight of every visitor’s holiday photos,” she added.
She also expressed her excitement for the annual tradition, emphasizing that the local attraction serves as a reflection of the city’s many blessings and a reminder of the joy and gratitude that come with the season.
“My heart is overflowing with joy and gratitude with the park’s reopening. Because what’s even more beautiful, brighter, and more colorful about the lights and decorations we’ll see this year is that they reflect and remind us of the many blessings our city has received,” she said in Filipino.
She also reminded visitors to reflect on the true spirit of Christmas while enjoying the attractions at the park.
“I hope that all who visit our park will experience the magic of the Christmas season and create happy and unforgettable memories with their friends, families, and loved ones,” she added.
Admission to the “Christmas by the Lake” park is free.
Guests are encouraged to book their visit online or via phone, although walk-ins are also welcome.
The park operates daily from December 1, 2024 to January 12, 2025 and will observe the following schedule:
Monday to Thursday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Friday and Saturday: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The park will be closed on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1, the local government said.
“Priority lanes are available for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women. Pets are allowed under certain conditions,” the local government’s announcement reads.
