MANILA, Philippines — Operatives of the Department of Transportation – Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) issued a ticket to a motorist who claimed to be a cop.

The motorist made the claim after he was questioned for passing through an exclusive bus lane along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) on Thursday.

In a report on Thursday evening, the SAICT said the driver of the sports utility vehicle (SUV) attempted to run over several of its operatives but failed.

Then, the driver identified himself to the operatives as a “police officer for the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).”

DILG has yet to respond to INQUIRER.net’s request for comment as of this writing.

Operatives of the DOTr special committee issued a ticket to the motorist for reckless driving and disregarding traffic signs.
