Binay party swears in Gwen

CEBU Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia is now officially a member of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan.

Garcia, along with a key ally of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay, took her oath before Jose “Peping“ Cojuangco Jr., secretary general of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), around 10 a.m. in Makati City yesterday.

Vice President Binay, who is chairman of PDP-Laban, witnessed the oath taking.

One Cebu Party spokesman lawyer Rory Jon Sepulveda told CEBU DAILY NEWS that despite taking her oath, Garcia remains to be a member of One Cebu Party.

“She is still One Cebu,” Sepulveda said.

“One Cebu will support PDP-Laban on national issues and, of course, elections,” he added.

Garcia’s latest political move, said, Sepulveda removes any doubt about the plan of governor to run for senator in 2013.

Last Thursday, Garcia was in Davao as a guest speaker for the Liga ng mga Barangay for Region 12.

Later, she met and had lunch with Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

Binay organized the United Nationalist Alliance in preparation for his plan to run for president in 2016. It is an alliance composed of the PDP-Laban and Partido ng Masang Pilipino of former president Joseph Estrada./with reports from Correspondent Jhunnex Napallacan
