MANILA, Philippines — The Presidential Security Command (PSC) on Monday said it tightened security around President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. amid Vice President Sara Duterte’s “active threat” to his life.
PSC Civil Military Operations Officer Manor Nestor Endozo said the PSC doubled its personnel guarding the President.
“Hindi madidisclose [kung ilan exactly], makikita niyo na lang siya during sa mga engagements ni President, kasi ido-doble ang security ni President lalo na sa upcoming activities niya,” Endozo told reporters in a chance interview.
(We cannot disclose how many exactly, but you will see it during the President’s engagements because the President’s security will be doubled in his upcoming activities.)
All this developed after Duterte on Saturday claimed that she hired someone to kill Marcos, his wife Liza, and cousin Speaker Martin Romualdez if she is killed.
Malacañang, in a previous statement, called this an “active threat.”
