IED found in front of clinic in Dipolog

MANILA, Philippines – An improvised explosive device (IED) was recovered in front of a clinic in Dipolog city Thursday, said Director Felicisimo Khu Jr., head of the Philippine National Police Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (PNP-DIPO)-Western Mindanao.

A security guard discovered a suspicious item inside a bag in a plant box in front of Mother and Child clinic in Bagsakan Edad market, T. Claudio street Miputac Dipolog city at around 5:30 a.m. which he immediately reported to Dipolog police, said Khu.

Khu said that when the security guard checked the item, he found a plastic clock and wirings.

Police findings said that IED parts were composed of a rifle grenade with clock nails used as sharpnels, he added.
