MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cordillera destroyed 45,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P9 million in Mountain Province.

PDEA said in a statement Monday that the torching of the marijuana plants was carried out in coordination with the Philippine National Police-Sadanga Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Mt. Province, and Provincial Mobile Force Company.

“[The law enforcement officials] successfully eradicated a total of 45,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P9,000,000 during an operation conducted in Brgy. Saclit, Sadanga, Mt. Province on November 16,” according to PDEA.

“The plants were found on a single location covering an estimated land area of 1,800 square meters,” it added.

While all marijuana plants were incinerated on site, PDEA disclosed that no cultivators were apprehended.
