MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of Cagayan and Isabela in Luzon may experience flooding after they were placed under yellow rainfall warning on Monday morning, according to the state weather service.
Areas placed in the yellow rainfall warning will experience between 7.5 mm and 15 mm of rain for the same period, based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) website.
Pagasa’s 5 a.m. advisory showed that the following areas are under yellow rainfall warning:
- Baggao, Cagayan
- Gattaran, Cagayan
- Lallo, Cagayan
- Peñablanca, Cagayan
- Buguey, Cagayan
- Santa Teresita, Cagayan
- Gonzaga, Cagayan
- Santa Ana, Cagayan
- Dinapigue, Isabela
- Divilacan, Isabela
- Maconacon, Isabela
- Palanan, Isabela
- Benguet, Isabela
Meanwhile, Pagasa said moderate to heavy rains are currently affecting the rest of Cagayan, the rest of Isabela, Mountain Province, Kalinga, Apayao, Abra, Aurora, Quirino, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur which may persist within two to three hours and may affect nearby areas.
It added that light to moderate rains are expected over Batanes within one to two hours.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards. Residents along mountain slopes are advised for possible landslides mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods,” the state weather bureau told the public.
