MANILA, Philippines — Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) is now over the Philippine Sea east of Quezon province, prompting the state weather bureau to raise Signal No. 5 over parts of Polillo Islands and Calaguas Island.

In its 8 a.m. cyclone update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Pepito had already passed through the waters of north Calaguas Islands at 15 kilometers per hour (kph).

It maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 255 kph.
