Signal No. 5 still hoisted over Catanduanes, parts of Camarines Sur

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 5 remains hoisted over Catanduanes and the northeastern portion of Camarines Sur due to Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

Aside from the two areas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (Pagasa) said in its 11 p.m. bulletin that the following places were also still under TCWS.

Pepito made landfall along the eastern coast of Catanduanes at 9:40 p.m., said Pagasa.

The super typhoon packs maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 325 km/h.

Pagasa said it moves in a west-northwestward direction at 25 km/h.
