LIST: Manila roads to be closed for running event from Nov. 23-24

MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in Manila will be closed from November 23 to 24 due to the 2024 ASICS Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Manila, the Manila Public Information Office announced.

In a traffic advisory on Wednesday, the office said that the road closure will take effect from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. in the following areas:

1. Roxas Blvd. from Katigbak Drive to Pres. Quirino Avenue
2. Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive
3. Katigbak Drive and South Drive
4. Independence Road
5. Padre Burgos Avenue from Roxas Blvd. to Jones Bridge straight to Qintin Paredes cor. Ongpin Street
6. Maria Orosa Street from Padre Burgos to Kalaw Avenue
7. Finance Road from Padre Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue
8. Northbound Lane of Taft Avenue from Ayala Blvd. to Padre Burgos Avenue
9. Muralla Street from Sta. Lucia to A. Soriano Avenue
10. Real Street from Muralla Street to Sta. Lucia Street
11. Sta. Lucia Street from Real Street to Muralla Street

The information office said that vehicles may use the following alternate routes to their intended destination:

1. Vehicles coming from the Northbound lane of Taft Avenue intending to utilize Padre Burgos Avenue shall turn right to Ayala Boulevard to the point of destination
2. Vehicles coming from Maria Orosa Street intending to Utilize Padre Burgos Avenue shall turn right to Kalaw Avenue to Taft Avenue to the point of destination
3. Vehicles coming from A. Mabini Street shall turn right to Kalaw Avenue to Taft Avenue to the point of destination
4. Vehicles coming from Pasay AOR utilizing the Northbound lane of Roxas Blvd shall turn right to P. Ocampo Street to the point of destination
5. Vehicles coming from Delpan Bridge shall turn left to A. Soriano Avenue to Magallanes Drive to the point of destination
6. All trucks and trailers traveling northbound of Osmeña Highway going to Mel Lopez Blvd. (Pier Area) shall turn right to Pres. Quirino Avenue to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination
7. Vehicles coming from Dasmariñas Street and S. Padilla Street intending to utilize Quintin Paredes Street shall turn right to Yuchengco St., then turn right to Ongpin St. to the point of destination
8. Vehicles coming from Juan Luna Street intending to utilize Jones Bridge shall turn left or right to Muelle dela Industria to the point of destination
9. All trailer trucks/heavy vehicles coming from Mel Lopez Blvd. (R-10) going to Roxas Blvd. shall turn left to Capulong Street straight to Yuseco Street to Lacson Avenue to the point of destination (old truck route)

The event, one of the largest running series globally and organized by IRONMAN, takes place annually in multiple countries. Its Southeast Asian debut was in the Philippines.
