Cops gun down cable wire thief in Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines—A suspected robber who allegedly stole cable wires was killed in a mid-day shootout with police in Bulacan Friday, a Philippine National Police spokesman said.

Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the suspect, identified as Argie Boter, was killed after he opened fire to police, prompting a firefight along Saog, Marilao, Bulacan at 12:05 p.m.

Cruz Jr. said Boter has a standing arrest warrant for robbery.

Recovered from the site were a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three live ammunition, a spent shell, and electric cable wires allegedly stolen from the Manila Electric Company.
