MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) confiscated P1.9 billion worth of dried tobacco, fake goods, used clothing and other items in several warehouses in Bulacan province, following a series of raids conducted last week.
The inspection of the first warehouse on Nov. 6 yielded suspected smuggled used clothing, shoes, intellectual property rights infringing goods, branded bags, toys, electric fans, wireless speakers, steel sheets, plastic resins, housewares, kitchenwares and other general merchandise items, the BOC said on Saturday.

According to Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service Director Verne Enciso, these items were valued at P1.25 billion.
In an inspection at another warehouse on Nov. 8, BOC agents discovered dried tobacco in sacks and cigarette filter rods that can make P694.4 million worth of 6,944 mastercases of cigarettes.
