1 dead due to Marce, over 261,000 persons affected – NDRRMC
MANILA, Philippines — One person reportedly died due to the effects of Typhoon Marce (international name: Yinxing), the latest National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) report showed.
In its 8 a.m. update on Sunday, the agency said it also received reports that one person got injured and another went missing.
In a separate statement, the Office of the Civil Defense disclosed that the lifeless body of a 12-year-old female was “retrieved inside a damaged house in Centro 6, Claveria.”
Meanwhile, one person went missing while another one was injured in a river in Bantay, Ilocos Sur.
“The bamboo raft they were onboard capsized and the strong water current caused by tropical cyclone Marce drifted them away,” the agency said.

Article continues after this advertisementAside from this, the NDRRMC reported that the tally of the people affected by Marce likewise rose to 261,787 individuals or 76,622 families.
Of this figure, 26,803 were displaced; with 13,887 fleeing to 230 evacuation centers and 12,916 taking shelter elsewhere.
Marce brought floods to 42 areas in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) so far.
It also damaged almost 21,000 houses nationwide.
The NDRRMC said it rolled more than P16,174,000 worth of assistance across the country for affected residents.
