DAVAO CITY, Philippines — About 3,000 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) across Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) 11 (Davao Region) facilities can now access Social Security System (SSS) services through a newly established e-center.

SSS Vice President for Mindanao South 1 Division Mary Ellen Estoque announced that a localized e-center was launched on Oct. 25, thanks to a partnership between the SSS and BJMP-11.

This initiative will enable PDLs in the Davao region to use a range of online SSS services.

Under a recently signed memorandum of agreement, SSS online services will be available to PDLs housed in BJMP facilities, including both male and female dormitories, and the annex.

“The e-center allows PDLs to access essential SSS services, such as applying for an SSS number, creating and managing their My.SSS accounts, resetting passwords, and submitting benefit applications,” Estoque said.

She noted the SSS’ mission to provide inclusive services, even to Filipinos who may feel isolated or neglected.
