Bonifacio Carta, chief of Manila Fire’s investigation, said the fire along Linceo Street in Adonis started in the home of Michael Cabrera at 8:35 a.m., reaching third alarm before being put out an hour earlier.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
“Nagulat ako, pag gising ko ang laki na ng apoy [I was surprised that when I woke up, the fire was huge],” Cabrera said in an interview, adding that the fire started at their house’s stock room located at their second floor.
He said he immediately detached their liquefied petroleum gas to prevent a possible explosion.
The house is inside a compound that house 11 familes, he said.
Nearby residents said they immediately grabbed their belongings and piled them to safety outside their homes in fear to avoid being damaged.
Meanwhile, Senior Fire Officer 3 Lewie Santos said electric supply in the affected area were temporarily cut off.
