DFA: Passport services suspended in Candon and Tuguegarao on Thursday
MANILA, Philippines — Passport services at the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) consular offices in Candon, Ilocos Sur and Tuguegarao are suspended on Thursday due to the effects of Typhoon Marce (international name: Yinxing).
The DFA informed the public about the matter in separate advisories issued also on Thursday.
“Affected applicants for passport services with confirmed appointments on November 7, 2024 at the Consular Office in Candon City will be accommodated from November 8, 2024 to December 9, 2024,” said the DFA.
Meanwhile, in Tuguegarao, the DFA said affected applicants with confirmed appointments November 7, 2024, will be accommodated one month from their original date of appointment or until December 9.
At 2 p.m. on Thursday, the state weather bureau said the center of the eye of Typhoon Marce was seen over the coastal waters of Santa Ana, Cagayan.
Article continues after this advertisementIt has maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, gustiness of up to 240 kph, and it is moving west-northwest at 10 kph.
Marce is expected to cross the northern portion of northern Luzon and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) region on Friday afternoon or evening.
