Drug suspect bolts Cavite jail

LUCENA CITY — A drug suspect escaped Sunday from the Cavite provincial jail in Trece Martirez City.

The Police Region Office 4A reported Monday that the inmate identified as “Jayson” at 1:44 a.m. jumped from the isolation tower toward the escorting area and subsequently climbed at the perimeter fence of the jail facility located in Barangay Lapidario and fled.

The police said the detainee has a pending case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and another car theft case in Laguna province.

The report did not provide further information or a description of the escapee.

Authorities immediately launched a manhunt to bring Jayson back to jail.
