40 persons injured during Undas, says NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines — Forty people were reportedly injured during the country’s observance of this year’s All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day or Undas, the latest National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) data stated.

Of this figure, the council said that 22 injuries were confirmed, while 18 are still up for validation, based on its 8 a.m. report on Monday.

Those hurt were monitored in the National Capital Region and Central Visayas.

Earlier, the Philippine National Police (PNP) deployed 31,000 personnel to ensure public safety for Undas.

No untoward incidents were recorded during the holidays, other than cases where some persons brought prohibited items into the cemeteries.

PNP will remain on heightened alert until November 4.
