The observance of All Saints’ Day at the Manila South Cemetery remained peaceful with no significant incidents recorded, Licayan added.
With the influx of visitors, personnel at the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office attended to 38 people for concerns related to blood pressure and monitored six patients in need of medical assistance, also as of 5 p.m. on Friday.
Manila South Cemetery Director Henry Dy previously told INQUIRER.net that he expected the crowd size to peak on Nov. 1.
Dy also said that the cemetery had 15 e-tricycles to service people visiting their departed loved ones across the 25-hectare area.
Two metal stairs were installed as additional makeshift entrances over the cemetery’s walls along Kalayaan Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue to allow more access for visitors.
The makeshift entrance along Metropolitan Avenue, however, was closed later on Friday afternoon because it was unstable.
The Manila South Cemetery will open at 5 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. until Sunday, Nov. 3.
