SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The local government in this town has begun the distribution of free rice seeds for the upcoming dry cropping season.
Mayor Elmer Soria led the distribution of the free seeds on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in support of the agricultural sector that sustains the livelihood and food supply of the town’s residents.
The seed distribution is intended for farmers registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture and is funded by the Department of Agriculture.
Municipal Agriculturist Remin Sardo is spearheading the initiative, which is managed by the Municipal Agriculture Office.
Soria expressed his commitment to helping local farmers by providing access to free hybrid and inbred rice seeds, aiming to boost productivity and improve the town’s farming industry. INQ
