MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. replaced Thompson Lantion as chairperson of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) just over a month after appointing him to the post.
Based on a letter signed by the president on October 28, 2024, Hilario Paredes will take over the position of Lantion, who assumed as chair of the agency only on September 10.

Paredes was an acting member of the BCDA Board of Directors before he was appointed as the chairperson of the government-owned and controlled corporation under the Office of the President.
He is a founder and senior partner at Paredes Law Group and chairman of the Asian Center for Legal Excellence, Inc.
The new BCDA chairperson finished his juris doctor and bachelor’s degrees at the Ateneo de Manila University.
