MANILA, Philippines – The FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-list is sending close to 3,000 food packs to victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in Camarines Norte through the help of their local volunteers.
This adds to the relief operations they’ve been conducting since typhoon Kristine made landfall last week.
Since then they’ve prioritized supporting their local youth leaders who have handed out hundreds of food packs and hot meals in Camarinas Sur, Laguna, and Batangas.
According to FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist first nominee Brian Poe Llamanzares, their organization received reports from their youth leaders across Luzon and chose to support them as they conducted their localized operations.
“I’m very proud of our youth volunteers. All the credit goes to our brave volunteers. They know the situation on the ground better than us. Thankfully, we were able to source funding in manila for their local volunteer operations,” he said.
He noted the efforts of Kabataan sa Kartilya ng Katipunan in Laguna, San Isidro Youth Group in Camarinas Sur, and FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-list second nominee Mark Patron in Batangas.
Poe-Llamanzares explained that this is exactly what FPJ Panday Bayanihan encourages.
“Since 2013 we’ve been supporting relief operations across the country. I’m so happy to see our youth leaders stepping up to support our fellow Filipinos. This is exactly the spirit of bayanihan we wish to encourage.”
FPJ Panday Bayanihan’s first nominee also explained that though the storm has passed, their organization is still conducting operations because people still need support to help them get back on their feet.
The party-list is currently making preparations for future typhoons while supporting their current provincial volunteer operations.
