Marcos hails Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos awardees

MANILA, Philippines —  President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. has urged recipients of the 2024 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos award to “continue to be the catalysts of change” as he recognized their valuable contribution to society.

He said this during the awarding ceremony in Malacañan Palace on Monday.

“To our awardees, continue to be the catalysts of change when you go back now to your communities. Challenge them to dream bigger, to aspire higher, and to take action with the same fervor that you have demonstrated, especially now typhoons and storms are made stronger because of climate change and the challenges become even harder to deal with,” Marcos said.

“We need more people like you—innovative, selfless, socially responsible; this is what I have always seen in Filipinos— we never get tired of helping others,” he added.

The awardees are teachers, soldiers, and police officers who live up to Metrobank Foundation’s motto, “A Heart That Serves.”

They demonstrated unwavering commitment and resilience even in the face of adversity.

Each awardee received P1 million cash, a golden medallion, and “The Flame” trophy.

• Professors Dr. Maria Regina Hechanova-Alampay and Dr. Decibel Faustino-Eslava
• Philippine Navy  SSG Michael Rayanon and Captain Salvador Sambalilo
• Philippine Army Major Ron Villarosa Jr.
• Police Officers SSG Llena Sol-Josefa Jovita, Major Mark Ronan Balmaceda, and Lt.Col. Bryan Bernardino
