MANILA, Philippines — Illegal drugs worth over P10 million were seized during police operations in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) from October 21 to 27, authorities said on Monday.
According to the Police Regional Office CAR (PRO-CAR), the narcotics were confiscated in eight separate anti-drug operations and they also arrested three suspected drug peddlers.
The illegal drugs seized were as follows:
- 27,150 pieces of fully-grown marijuana
- 30,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops
- 10,000 pieces of marijuana stalks
- 67.70 grams of crystal methamphetamine (locally known as “shabu”)
In total, the collected illegal drugs had a standard street drug price of P10,690,360, the PRO-CAR said.
Last July, the Cordillera Police said they confiscated illegal drugs valued at P80 million during a month-long operation, marking a P16-million increase from June, when they seized over P64 million worth of narcotics. Emmanuel John Abris, INQUIRER.net trainee
