MANILA, Philippines — The trough of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name Trami) still affects parts of Luzon though it is already outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather agency said Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Kristine’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Occidental Mindoro and Palawan.

As of 3 a.m. on October 26, Pagasa said Kristine was 630 kilometers (km) west of Bacnotan, La Union, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the enter and gustiness of up to 115 kph, moving westward at 20 kph.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will also be felt Saturday over Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao due to the southwesterly wind flow, according to the state weather agency.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, it added.

Meanwhile, Pagasa reported that Tropical Storm Kong-Rey (international name) was located 1,825 km east of Central Luzon outside PAR at 3 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, moving northwestward at 35 kph.

Moderate to strong winds and rough seas will still occur in Luzon, while Visayas and Mindanao will experience slight to moderate winds and moderate to rough seas. (PNA)
