Storm Kristine update: Signal No. 2 in Metro Manila, 23 Luzon areas

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and 23 other areas in Luzon are under the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami), state meteorologists said on Thursday night.

In its 11:00 p.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said winds  from 62 kph to 88 kph may be expected in the next 24 hours, causing minor to moderate impacts to life and property in areas under TCWS No. 2

• The northern portion of Rizal (Cainta, Taytay, Angono, San Mateo, Rodriguez, Tanay, City of Antipolo, Baras, Teresa, Morong), and the northern portion of mainland Quezon (General Nakar)

Areas under TCWS No. 1, Pagasa added, may experience winds from 39 to 61 kph, which may result in minimal to minor threat to life and property.

Kristine has maintained its strength over the coastal waters of Bolinao, Pangasinan, Pagasa said in its Thursday evening update.
