LEGAZPI CITY — At least one person was reported missing while 20 houses were damaged by a landslide in Libon town in Albay on Wednesday afternoon.

Mayor Wilfredo Maronilla did identity the victim but the families were already evacuated to some houses in Zone 3 in Barangay (village) Burabod.

The landslide started at 3:45 p.m. but the rescuers from the Philippine Army were still on standby as the soil was still cascading down the slopes.

The other villages of the town were submerged under floodwater since Tuesday afternoon due to the heavy rainfall brought by the Tropical Storm Kristine.
