PNP opens doors: 360 new recruits needed
ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) is on the lookout for 360 fresh faces to join the Philippine National Police (PNP) as part of its first recruitment wave for the year.
According to Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the recruitment process will strictly be based on merit, ensuring that the “padrino system” or backdoor recommendations have no place in the selection.
Of the 360 slots up for grabs, 20 percent are reserved for female candidates.

The drive is aimed at filling vacancies left by personnel due to deaths, retirements, or dismissals from service.

Article continues after this advertisementWanky also announced changes to the height requirements for applicants, making it easier for more people to qualify.
The minimum height for female applicants has been reduced to five feet, while male candidates now need only be five feet two inches tall, both lower than the previous standards.
Aspiring recruits must meet the following criteria:
- Filipino citizen with good moral character
- Baccalaureate degree holder with corresponding eligibility
- Between 21 to 30 years old
- Not dishonorably discharged from any military or civilian position
- No criminal conviction for offenses involving moral turpitude
- Must pass psychiatric, psychological, drug, and physical tests
Wanky reiterated that the recruitment process is free and warned applicants to be wary of scammers looking to exploit hopefuls by offering assistance in exchange for money.
“I would like to remind applicants that there are no fees when applying. Do not approach anyone offering help in exchange for money,” he emphasized.
Those who successfully make it through the recruitment process can expect a starting salary of P29,668 per month as patrolmen or patrolwomen.
Applications are now being accepted at the PRO-6 headquarters in Camp Delgado, Iloilo City.
Interested candidates need to submit the following documents: Philippine Statistics Authority-certified birth certificate; transcript of records and diploma (authenticated by the school registrar); certificate of eligibility (authenticated by the issuing office; photocopy of two valid IDs.
The recruitment is set to bolster the PNP’s ranks with fresh talent, with an emphasis on inclusivity and a commitment to ensuring that only the most qualified candidates are chosen, free of corruption or influence.
