Class suspensions on October 24, 2024 due to tropical depression Kristine

MANILA, Philippines – Classes on Thursday, October 24 in parts of Luzon and the Visauas have been suspended due to the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

Suspended classes in Luzon

  • Tuguegarao City (all levels, public and private)
  • Valenzuela City (in-person and online classes; all levels, public and private; work in city hall offices except for disaster and emergency response offices)
  • Bulacan (all levels, public and private; work in government and private offices)
  • Angeles City, Pampanga (in-person classes; all levels, public and private) (alternative modes of learning allowed)
  • San Simon, Pampanga (all levels, public and private)
  • Pangasinan (all levels, public and private; work in government offices)
  • Pila, Laguna (in-person classes; all levels, public and private) (shift to alternative modes of learning)
  • Batangas City (all levels, public and private)
  • San Luis, Batangas (all levels, public and private)
  • Marikina City (in-person and asynchronous classes; all levels, public and private)
  • Paracelis, Mountain Province (all levels, public and private)
  • Manila City (all levels, public and private)

  • Parañaque City (all levels, public and private) (alternative mode of learning allowed)

  • Taguig City (all levels, public and private) (shift to alternative mode of learning)

  • Mandaluyong City (all levels, public and private)

  • Cavite (all levels, public and private)

  • Arayat, Pampanga (in-person and online/modular classes; all levels, public and private)

Storm track, forecast

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Kristine developed into a severe tropical storm and is expected to make landfall in Isabela on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said Kristine was located some 175 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela, moving northwestward at 20 kilometers per hour (km/h).
