MANILA, Philippines—Rescue operations ramped up Wednesday as Tropical Storm Kristine brought record-breaking rainfall to Albay, triggering widespread flooding and displacing thousands.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing across the province, with multiple government agencies assisting in reaching those stranded.
The Coast Guard’s Deployable Response Groups in Bicol remain on high alert to provide additional aid as needed, while the Albay Public Safety Emergency Management Office expects more evacuations as the storm’s impact continues.
