MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Army and local disaster responders rescued flood-affected individuals nationwide amid the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

In a statement on Wednesday, the Army said humanitarian and disaster response teams in the following divisions rescued families in flooded areas:

The Army also mobilized a light Urban Search and Rescue team composed of 18 personnel to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Southern Luzon Command headquarters at Camp Nakar in Lucena City, Quezon province.

Earlier, the state weather bureau reported that Kristine’s center was last spotted some 200 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, moving northwestward at 30 kilometers per hour (kph) and maintaining maximum sustained winds of 85 kph.
