Central Visayas cops seize P6.8-M drugs, nab high-profile suspect
MANILA, Philippines – Central Visayas police seized drugs worth P6.8 million in two operations and arrested a “high-profile” drug personality in Mandaue City, Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) said on Tuesday.
Mandaue City police on Monday evening arrested a 29-year-old in Barangay Subangdaku and confiscated 500 grams of shabu (crystal meth) worth P3.4 million, a caliber .22 magnum revolvers, pieces of ammunition, a motorcycle, a cellular phone, and a belt bag.
Authorities said the suspect violated the Dangerous Drugs Act and the Firearms Act.
In a separate operation on Monday morning, police seized 500 grams of illegal drugs worth P3.4 million in Barangay Lourdes, Cortes town, Bohol province.
PRO7 said the operations were part of preparations for the “Kalag-kalag” season and the upcoming midterm elections.
