MANILA, Philippines â Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Tuesday recommended that all local government units in Luzon suspend classes from October 22 to 23, due to the anticipated effects of Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).
The recommendation applies to students from preschool to college, both public and private.

âThe expected height of the storm is from midnight until midday tomorrow, so we already advised them to suspend classes,â he said in a mix of Filipino and English.
Metro Manila and 42 other areas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administrationâs 11 a.m. advisory.
Kristine was last seen 335 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 80 kph while moving in the same westward direction and speed at 15 kph.
