MANILA, Philippines — Classes in many parts of the country were suspended on Tuesday, October 22,  as Kristine (international name: Trami) intensified into a tropical storm.

In its 5 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Kristine’s maximum sustained winds reached 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, with gusts of up to 90 kph.

Due to the weather conditions, the following areas declared class suspensions on Tuesday:
